The Visx Star 4 is the most popular laser in the world - more patients have
been treated on the VISX Star 4 than any other laser system. VISX has paid
attention to technological advancements and with the Star 4 laser, we can
provide CustomVue, the latest of the FDA appproved treatments.
The Allegretto Wave represents a new generation of excimer lasers.
Operating at an unsurpassed speed of 200 pulses per second (twice the speed of the next competing laser) with a laser beam pulse diameter of less then 1mm and a Gaussian beam profile, this tiny Gaussian beam allows for a much smoother treatment bed - resulting in crisper, sharper vision. With PerfectPulse Technology the Allegretto's eye tracking system completely controls every laser pulse as it is applied to the eye – it checks the position of the eye 200 times per second and automatically adjusts all internal mirrors to place the next pulse into the right location.
Intralase, often referred to as All Laser LASIK, the Intralase® laser offers patients a computer controlled alternative to a steel surgical blade (micro-keratome) for creating the corneal flap in LASIK.
Conservative Patient Selection
NuVision doctors perform extensive testing prior to approving you for any refractive surgical procedure. This testing includes Orbscan IIz to analyze your corneal topography on the front surface and the back surface of your cornea. These results are so crucial that NuVision doctors require this test before they will approve you for laser vision correction.

Along with conservative patient selection, disposable instruments are used whenever possible and extensive sterilizing procedures are conducted followed for before each patient.
A special air filtration system is used in our laser room which even has special ultraviolet germ killing capability. Temperature and humidity are both constantly controlled 24 hours a day, 365 days per year for more accurate laser treatment.
